A long history runs through the Star Bar building, originally constructed from convict brick in the 1800s, the heritage-listed facade has welcomed many a weary traveller. The Star Bar, after extensive renovations, was relaunched in 1991, with Sir Joh Bjelke-Petersen opening the night by cooking the very first pizza in the imported Italian wood-fired pizza oven.
The Star Bar has been a main stay in Launceston, with the heritage building approaching 200 years old. The Star Bar offers a premium bar and restaurant with extensive day and night trade, high class function and conferencing facilities, 3.5 star boutique accommodation as well as being Launceston’s hub for late night live music and entertainment.
